This is the Forest that every inhabitant of the town of Obscura is afraid of. Dark creatures lurk in the night, and some in the day, making it impossible for the villagers to leave the town. Many, who have entered the Forest never came back...
The most common in the swamps of the Forest are the banshees. Evil creatures who have strange mystical powers. If anyone captures a banshee, the banshee will have to obey the orders of the person, which includes wishes.
In the Forest, those seen fluttering above are bats, the ones slithering on the ground and coil around your feet are snakes. They spit out venemous poison even if you had not disturbed them of that sort. Antidotes should work for that, but you must act quickly or the victim could die almost immediately.
Some say, there's a legendary creature in the Forest, the leader of all the Dark Creatures. It has big, spread-out wings, glowing red eyes and is about the height of one of the tall trees. It's feet are razor-sharp claws that tear at anything and a long tail that swishes around when it walks around. It has only a stretch of skin all over its body, therefore, its bones are visible. At night, villagers of Obscura had reported seeing a 'big, flying creature' in the Forest. And sometimes, it would even roar, causing the villagers to be even more afraid of going in there...If you defeat this creature, all the other Dark Creatures will disappear along with it...
Who will lead the fearful villagers of this town out into the Realm of Aravaen?

The three young women walked briskly towards the town of Obscura, after hearing the plight that they were in. It was a dark night, but they had not wanted to stop for a rest as the situation was getting worser than before. Stopping in front of the Forest, they looked at one another.
"Is this the right place?" the young Elementalist asked, staring at its trees furtively.
"Its a Forest, right? It should be." Aerith replied, a tone of confidence quavering in her voice.
"Yes, this is where we should go through to get to the other end. Then, we will come in view of the town of Obscura." The Leading Mage said to them in a commanding tone of voice.
The other two nodded as they stepped foot into the Forest, hearing sounds of nocturnal creatures lurking everywhere. "You are not welcome to our home..." a creature hissed. Atelier shivered, holding her rod in front of her like a shield. Aerith strode through the dense Forest confidently, pulling out her dragonhide gloves from her back pocket and slipping them on, assured that there will be a battle arriving right under their nose.
"A Leading Mage, A martial arts expert and a Elementalist. We should be fine on our own...Whatever you do, don't panic." Atelier thought to herself, eyes squeezed tightly together.
"Yes, we must prepare for battle against any of these creatures. We need to rescue the townsfolk, alright?" Athena said to the other two with an encouraging smile. Aerith nodded. Atelier gave the Mage a weak smile and they carried on walking and walking, who knows if they will be able to tread across this Forest and reach the Town, fighting endless battles of grieve and sorrow.

The hooded figure dressed in a brownish, but somewhat dark yellow cloak unlatched the lock of the wooden door of her home, then pushed open the door and stepped outside into the cool night. The crickets chirped eerily, but she was used to it all. The words of the village elders told her to not step into the woods at all, at risk of being spotted by the various creatures that lurked there. But she was in fact bold enough to enter the woods many times, but she was unharmed. One day, she would finally get out of this accursed place. When she was young, the children of Obscura used to play a game. It involved the children standing with their backs to the entrance of the woods and waiting to see how long they could keep it up without being afraid. Luciria Hart held the record, and to this day it remained unbroken.
The lure of danger seemed tempting to her, and somehow the twisted branches of the gnarled trees seemed to beckon her to enter into their dominion, into the world of shadows. The soft bubbling of the creek that ran through the woods was a familiar sound by now, so she didn't give it any thought. But she had seen, one day, a huge looming shadow. The most feared creature in the woods. She had seen it. And now she feared for the lives of her family. The flame in her lantern flickered and shrank, then sprung to life again quickly. She sat down on the porch of her wooden home, and placed the lantern next to her. She couldn't sleep. She would keep watch for the night.
As she sat upon the step of the porch, she recalled the days when the village was abound with tales of the supernatural and other such nonsense. She was the only child who was not afraid of it all, who was not affected. Thus some called her emotionless. She wasn't emotionless. She just kept all her thoughts to herself. If she wanted to tell others, she would have opened her mouth and told others just as easily as she kept her secrets to herself. She just didn't want to bother others with her own selfish concerns.
The night seemed peaceful. But of course looks could very well be deceiving.

"You are not welcome...Leave, humans.." the eerie voice repeated again. Darkness surrounded them like a blanket and the sense of sight was impossible to use at that point of time,"Who are you?" Aerith called out, her eyes shut tight. Being trained as an assassin, Aerith could possibly live without her sense of sight as hearing, was essential for the likes of her.
"We are the creatures who lurk in the night..." it hissed. Ravens began to caw loudly and the flutter of wings told them that they had been frightened off.
"We are prepared to fight you!" Atelier shouted out loud, her eyes wide open but nothing came in sight.
"Crrrk!" a bolt of lightning suddenly struck one of the creatures, Atelier had done it. It screamed in pain and agony, before disappearing again. The voices became louder and louder.
"What have you done to our sister? You shall pay the price.." The trio felt sharp claws clasping around their ankles, pulling them in the reverse direction. Athena began to savagely attack the claws with her rod, not being able to use Magic at a time like this. Atelier continued to cast Fire over and over again, but the claws seemed to dig deeper and deeper into their skin.
Listening carefully, Aerith could gauge where the creatures were hiding. She took a great leap, escaping the clutches and landed on another side, the black cloth slowly retreating down. Aerith jumped up and attacked the creatures, swooping from tree to tree quickly as the sound of rustling leaves could be heard. The voices ceased and light could be seen again. Aerith had single-handedly taken on all the creatures. It was all over in a matter of mintues.
"Swish." she landed on the grimy earth with one knee on the ground and her left fist clenched on it. Her dark hair danced to the rhythm of the wind, before she stood up again, eyes flashing with a victorious gleam.
"Ugh..." Atelier groaned as she stood up, staring at the scratches on her ankle with apprehension. Aerith helped the Mage up and asked,"Everything fine?"
Athena cast Curaga onto her party, and wound their injuries up with several bandages that she had brought, and they continued on their perilous journey to the town of Obscura.
